Should you track your macros forever?
If you track your food intake/calories/macros, (or want to start) this one is for you.
I get asked this question all the time:
"Should I track macros forever?"
My answer?
I don't believe you should.
I freaking love flexible dieting and tracking macros.
It really allows you that FREEDOM in your diet to eat what you want, not eat the same things every day, ENJOY your food, and STILL progress towards your goals!
However.....it DOES require a good amount of effort!
You have to use your measuring instruments. (food scale, TBSP, cups)
You have to track everything you eat on your phone.
You may go out to eat less frequently.
And you've got to be consistent !!!
Tracking your macros and tracking your food intake is a TOOL in your toolbox.
It is a tool that you can use during a period of time where you're VERY seriously working towards a specific goal.
With my clients, I don't want them to track macros forever.
Every single social event, every single dinner out....it isn't realistic to have to track these things for the rest of your LIFE.
What's cool about what I teach my girls is, they can apply these strategies for the rest of their lives.
So once they LEARN how to track and measure their food, and what their calories should look like for their goals....
They can use that info to lean out / lose fat forever!
If you're someone who wants to lose body fat while still being able to:
-Go out to eat
-Drink a glass of wine
-Have dessert
-Still have a social life
-Actually enjoy the foods you eat
Then I would recommend tracking your macros and flexible dieting!
It is a GREAT tool to use when you're looking to be super serious about your goals.
And the best part is you DON'T have to sacrifice everything or be super miserable during this dieting phase!
