How to Make Your Time in the Gym Count

I’ve said this once, and I’ll say it again: you do NOT need to complicate things when you are in the gym.

Here are 3 rules I live by while training to make sure I get the MOST out of my sessions:

1. Track your workouts. Ideally, you’d have a prescribed strength training program to follow week after week. But at the bare minimum, track what you did THAT DAY. Write down the exercise, sets, reps, and load. How are you going to know if you’re progressing if you have no idea what you did just 2 weeks ago?

2. Perform exercises you know work well for your body. Should you do the same 5 exercises forever and ever? No, but exercise selection is important. Perform exercises that feel good & safe on your body.

3. Prioritize rest. If you’re trying to gain some muscle to build the shape of your body, you need to prioritize rest. Far too many people don’t rest long enough in between sets, and consequently have sub-par working sets. .

You can 100% have the results you desire from putting in the work in the gym.

Let’s maximize our time in there, and train SMART!
